Description
While shooting a timelapse of the Milky Way from Los Padres National Forrest, near Figueroa Campground, north of Santa Barbara, a rocket completely lit up the sky and the earth! Confusion, amazement and subtle panic rushed through our bodies as it traversed the sky above. My timelapse ran out of battery only 14 frames after this shot. Turns out it was an Atlas V rocket being launched from Vandenberg Airforce Base.
